The Titans emerged victorious over the Vikings to secure the championship for the Kavan Zia-led squad in PALL’s 2025 Pumpkin Classic held on October 25. The Pumpkin Classic is a one-day tournament that is the culmination of the final weekend of the Fall Ball season that also includes the Fright Night Hit-a-Thon.
In first round games, the Titans knocked off the Padres and the Vikings triumphed over the Knights. The teams are composed of Fall Ball Cactus League players (aged 10 through 12) and are managed and coached by former PALL players who are now students at local high schools.
The Vikings were led by Zia who was assisted by Sho Newman. Seve Noh managed the Titans, assisted by Marco Arradaza and Robert Kimble. The Padres were managed by Jace Peavey with assistance from Julio Calderon and Connor Perry; the coaching staff of the Knights included Victor Hernandez, Roman Kimble, Andrew Reed, and Cal Robles.
The coaches are all baseball players at Gunn, Palo Alto, and Serra high schools and the Menlo School. The Classic is an opportunity for the PALL alumni to teach and mentor the league’s players and is a learning opportunity for both coaches and players. The coaches provide a great public service to the PALL community.
The daylong tournament has become a fall institution at Middlefield Ballpark with high interest and youthful enthusiasm that sparks interest in the upcoming spring season.
