The Palo Alto Little League Intermediate (13u) All-Star team fell just short of a trip to the Western Regionals by a score of 1-0 in the NorCal finals, which were held in Selma.

The team provided fans with an amazing display of grit and talent as they won an incredible eleven straight elimination games in the California District 52, Section 3, and NorCal tournaments before their heart-wrenching loss to Woodland National in the NorCal championship game.

The 13u team lost the first game in each of their three tournaments—meaning every subsequent game could be their last. Paced by the hitting of Adrian Lee, Adi Weiner, and Marco Arradaza; pitching by Isaac Fredericson, Tye Peavey, Lee, and Weiner; solid defensive play anchored by catcher Justin Fung; and clutch hitting; the team emerged from the losers backet and, in each case, beat the team that first sent them to the loser’s bracket to win at the district and section levels.

13u team celebrating their Section 3 championship but couldn’t pull off another Cinderella victory in NorCal finals.

Manager Patrick Peavey said, “This is the most coachable group I’ve ever been around,” and he commented that each of the fourteen players on the roster contributed to the team’s success. The Intermediate All-Star roster includes Marco Arradaza, Jonathan Chen, Isaac Fredericson, Justin Fung, Cole Kristofferson, Lucas Lai, Adrian Lee, Sho Newman, Seve Noh, Tye Peavey, Battle Scott, Colton Sims, Chapin Walker, and Adi Weiner; coaching staff: Patrick Peavey, Shawn Owen, and Prairie Sims.

The devasting loss on July 14 signifies the end of the spring season for Palo Alto Little League.
