PALL Juniors won their first D52 Fall Ball Championship with convincing wins over San Mateo National (27-0), Menlo-Atherton (12-2), and host Redwood City (12-3).

In the first game, Arjum Ahluwalia pitched a complete game shutout. Ahluwalia’s pitching was complemented by his own hitting and by Sebastian Jimenez and Rafa Ballagas, who delivered extra base hits in the Palo Alto victory.

Huxley Hernandez followed with an outstanding pitching performance–another complete game. Doubles were the story on offense–delivered by Carter Quintero, David Fox, and Hernandez.

In the final, Bennett Clifton pitched four innings, masterfully mixing his off-speed stuff with pinpoint location to limit Redwood City to three runs. Darren Chan closed the game, pitching the last two innings while delivering a clutch double.

Palo Alto combined players from the its two regular season teams, Akita and Husky, to face other combined teams from other District 52 Little Leagues. Akita finished the regular season 10-0, and Huskies ended at 6-4.

The Juniors were managed by Greg Clifton with coach Mark Hernandez.
