Accommodations in the Palo Alto area:
Important Note:
The National Junior Olympic Water Polo Championships are playing at
Stanford University and local area pools during this same time so you should book
hotels as soon as possible. Given that Middlefield Ballpark is in the southern part of
Palo Alto, it is easy to stay at hotels south of Page Mill Road or even in Mountain View.

Things to do around Palo Alto:
● Get bikes and cruise around Stanford University...or walk around, it is a beautiful campus. Walk down Palm Drive and check out the old Quad and the new Quad
● Walk and shop around the Stanford Mall
● Walk up and down University Avenue
● Walk around California Avenue (PA’s “2nd” downtown)
● Golfing at Palo Alto Muni (just renovated)
● Walk “The Dish” behind Stanford. This is a 3.5 mile paved loop that provides great views of Silicon Valley; it is a super popular local walk. It takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to walk. There are three gated entrances. Most visitors use the Stanford Ave. gate, located where Stanford Ave. intersects with Junipero Serra Blvd.
● Check out a movie at a local cinema (best new releases at Shoreline Century Cinemas 16 on Shoreline Blvd. in Mountain View)
● Go to Great America in Santa Clara
● If you have the time and inclination, check out the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (a little less than hour away)

There are many great dining options in the surrounding area along the spectrum of casual to formal. If you have not been to the area before, make time to walk down University Avenue to get a feel for Palo Alto’s main drag. Here are a few local favorites:

Parking
Limited parking will be available on the 3rd base side of the field and will also be available at Mitchell Park off E. Meadow Drive (which is directly behind the ballpark). You can also find parking along the streets surrounding the ballpark.
