Registration opens June 19, 2023

2023 Fall Ball player ages are based on player's 2024 Little League age, i.e., player's age as of August 31, 2024

 

Birthdates between 9.1.2008 and 8.31.2011 (13- to 15-year-olds): CLOSED

Juniors registration closes August 10, 2023

 

Birthdates between 9.1.2011 and 8.31.2019 (5- to 12-year-olds): CLOSED

5-12 registration closes August 16, 2023

 

2023 Fall Ball registration fees, including late fees: $350

 

  1. PALL Fall Ball is a developmental league for the Palo Alto Little League Spring 2024 season–it is not an extension of the Spring 2023 season. 
    1. There are six or seven games in the Fall Ball season
    2. League standings are not maintained
  2. Fall Ball is a community-based instructional league; it is not as competitive as the spring season. The goals of Fall Ball are
    1. Have fun
    2. Develop skills for the Spring 2024 season
  3. Registration is limited to players eligible to play in the Palo Alto Little League by age and by residence or school enrollment.

  4. Registration fees are $250 per player. If late registrations are allowed, there is an additional $100 late fee assessment.
  5. Player's assignment to a division is based strictly on the player’s 2024 Little League age, i.e., player’s age as of August 31, 2024.
    1. 2024 Little League age 13, 14, and 15 (born between 9.1.08 and 8.31.11)–>Juniors
      1. All 13- to 15-year-old players are required to attend a skills evaluation
      2. Skills evaluations are on August 12 and 13 at El Camino Field
      3. Depending on the number of player candidates and the availability of coaches, some players may not be accommodated on the Juniors or Intermediate teams--in which case, full refunds will be made
    2. 2024 Little League age 11 and 12 (born between 9.1.11 and 8.31.13)–>Fall Bal 12u
      1. All 11- and 12-year-old players are required to attend a skills evaluation, which assists league officials in forming teams
      2. Skills evaluations are on August 19 at Middlefield Ballpark
    3. 2024 Little League age 9 and 10 (born between 9.1.13 and 8.31.15)–>Fall Ball 10u
      1. All 9- and 10-year-old players are required to attend a skills evaluation, which assists league officials in forming teams
      2. Skills evaluations are on August 19 at Middlefield Ballpark
    4. 2024 Little League age 7 and 8 (born between 9.1.15 and 8.31.17)–>Coach Pitch, if there is sufficient interest and field availability and if coaches are identified
    5. 2024 Little League age 5 and 6 (born between 9.1.17 and 8.31.19)–>T-Ball, if there is sufficient interest and field availability and if coaches are identified
  6. There are no Fall Ball Wiffle Ball or Challenger divisions.
  7. All 9- through 15-year-olds must attend a mandatory evaluation session, which will be held on the weekend following the close of registration.
  8. Fall Ball 12u teams are formed by a committee consisting of the Spring 2023 player agents, skill evaluators, team managers, and other league administrators. It is expected that teams will be formed within one week after evaluations. The considerations for team formation are
    1. Competitive balance
    2. Friend requests (not guaranteed)
    3. School teams
  9. Fall Ball 10u, Coach Pitch, and T-Ball teams are primarily school- and friend-based. The teams are formed by the player agents and the teams will be formed in the days following the close of registration.
  10. Fall Ball Juniors and Intermediate teams will be formed after player evaluations--all 13- through 15-year-old players must attend at least one evaluation session.
    1. Children who are not selected for a Junior or Intermediate Fall Ball team will receive a full refund
  11. Fall Ball is a recreational program--team standing are not maintained.
    1. To promote player development, Fall Ball pitch limit and mandatory play requirements are more restrictive than in the spring season
  12. Practice and game schedule
    1. Two practices per week from Aug. 26 through Sep. 29
    2. Two games per week from Sep. 30 through Oct. 27 and, at the manager's discretion, one practice per week. Once games start, generally, there is one weekday and one Saturday game scheduled for each team, every week.
  13. For 12u teams, there is a one-day, post-season Jamboree on October 28, 2023.
    1. For the Jamboree, players are randomly assigned to teams
